December AU Quarterly Newsletter

The December issue of Autodesk’s AU Quarterly Newsletter is out.  As always, there are some excellent AEC-related articles that benefit users of Autodesk’s AEC software.

David Koch has a great article on “AEC Content on the Ribbon” for AutoCAD Architecture.  David describes the process to run tool palette tools from the ribbon system.  I highly recommend this article for anyone desiring to customize the new user interface in AutoCAD Architecture.

Dan Bayer digs into the issue of getting coordinate consistency between different BIM models.  Many times there is little thought during the project setup as to the coordinates so that the various models fit together appropriately.  This is a must-read for anyone trying to coordinate different BIM models with Revit and Navisworks.

Of course, I have my Doug’s Quik Tips that are in each issue of the newsletter.  There are always 10 tips that cover a combination of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, and Revit.

If you do not get the AU Quarterly Newsletter, you can go to au.autodesk.com and edit your AU Online account to receive the newsletter.  If you don’t have an AU Online account, it is free to create it.  You can also see the articles at au.autodesk.com -> Resources tab -> AU Tech Talk option.

Be sure and check it out.
